Molly McCammon retires from CIRCAC Board
After 18 years, we are saying a partial goodbye to Board member Molly McCammon. Molly was first appointed to represent the Municipality of Anchorage in 2004 and since that time has left a big mark on the organization, serving at various times as Board President, Chair of the Environmental Monitoring and Executive Committees and winning the 2015 Glen Glenzer Volunteer of the Year Award. Molly has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organization through her other work with the Alaska Ocean Observing System, for which she served as founding director from 2013-2021. Prior to her work with AOOS, she was Executive Director of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Trustee Council and has also served on the National Research Council’s Polar Research Board and she was part of the initial advisory group for the National Academy of Science’s Gulf Research Program. Molly has provided tremendous leadership for CIRCAC during her years of service and we are happy that she will continue working with us as a member of the Environmental Monitoring Committee.
The Municipality of Anchorage has appointed its new representative to our Board, Hans Rodvik. Hans currently serves as Deputy Communications Director for Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson and has extensive commercial fishing experience. He is a past member of the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association and has also worked for the Alaska Support Industry Alliance. We look forward to working with Hans to continue carrying out CIRCAC’s mission.
